During their tenure as Iowa Junior Shorthorn Association Advisors, Pete and Cindy left an indelible mark, igniting the passion for Shorthorns in countless juniors. Their commitment to the National Junior Shorthorn Show was unmistakable, as they played pivotal roles in organizing two highly successful shows in Des Moines, setting new records and inspiring future generations of Shorthorn enthusiasts.
Transitioning from their advisory roles and the conclusion of their daughters' showing careers, Pete assumed the role of General Manager at Cyclone Trace Cattle Company, leaving an enduring imprint on the breed's history with numerous national champions and influential donors still revered today. Throughout this period, both Pete and Cindy remained steadfast in their support of junior exhibitors, known for their hospitality and generosity at shows, ensuring that no one went hungry at Cindy's stalls.
Now embarking on a new chapter with Purple Ribbon Beef, their direct-to-consumer beef business, Pete and Cindy continue to exemplify innovation and dedication. Shipping premium beef across the nation weekly and engaging with their local community through farmers' markets, they remain committed to excellence in every aspect of their endeavors.
Looking ahead, Pete and Cindy eagerly anticipate the possibility of their granddaughter stepping into the show ring, eager to share their passion for Shorthorns with the next generation.
